Registered Social Landlords are "Governed" by the following:

1) Statutory & Statutory Instrumental Legislation. Eg; Relevant Housing Acts & Local Authority Laws (Eg; Health & Safety).

2) Common (Simple Contract) Law. Eg; Tenancy Agreements (Contracts).

3) The Housing Corporation's (Now Tenant Service Authority - TSA) Tenant's Charter (You should have been given a Copy).

Registered Social Landlords answer to the now TSA, who carry-out Inspections via the Audit Commission.

Landlord & Tenant's responsibilities are set-out in your Tenancy Agreement & Tenant's Handbook which is part of that Agreement & leaflets.
