What's going on with Resident Engagement?
I contacted Hyde when this was first suggested and said I'd like to be involved.
Heard nothing since!
Despite being rid of my neighbour from hell for a while now, I have still taken an active interest in how ASB is dealt with by Local Authorities and I can easily see that most people do not get the support they need and if they do it is much too slow and the focus seems to be on helping the perpetrator rather than understanding the needs of the victim.
I just wanted to remind any sufferers of Harassment and Anti-social behaviour that they can get advice and support at:

www.nfh.org.uk

Still wondering why Hyde don't have a designated ASB section on here.

thanks for your support sarah, i received a call this morning from the ASB team, and there's not really alot they can do as the last incident was 11 months ago, and are still awaiting police reports regarding this recent matter. i will however let other neighbours know about the focus group discussions as i'm sure a few of them will be interested in this. thanks again

Hi bex826,

Sorry to hear of the trouble you are having. I have raised your concerns with your local office.

With regards to the extra support that could be offered for those suffering ASB, Hyde is currently looking at ways of doing this.

We want to work with residents to improve the way we deal with ASB and develop new ways of offering more support.

At the end of January, we will be holding a series of focus group discussions with residents so they can help us to improve services. I wondered if this is something you would be interested in being involved with? It would be a good opportunity to share your views with members of the ASB team and to help contribute to improvements.

If you are keen to get involved please contact me on 0203 207 2767 or email residentengagement@hyde-housing.co.uk

Thanks,
Sarah

thanks the cake fairy, i will go take a look at that, as my neighbours and i don't seem to get any support from our local hyde martlet.
we have a neighbour who we've had to have the police out for, four or five times in the last 2 years. the most recent form of ASB was this weekend. all our housing officer says is 'i'll have a word'. one of my other neighbours phoned to complain today and was told i've already had three phone calls regarding this matter, and was said to have sounded totally uninterested in what they had to say. this isn't on. in this block of 4 flats, 3 of us a single women. all the anti social behavior is linked to him and yet the rest of us have to suffer and don't get any support. i'm waiting for a phone call from the anti social behavior man at my local office. when i phoned on monday they couldn't tell me too much as they were still getting info from the police.

It's about time you had a designated area on this forum for people suffering from ASB and Harassment.

It's not about facts, figures and policies.
It's about real people living in fear who need support and don't know where to turn or have to wait far too long for action to be taken to protect them.

It needs to be well-advertised too.
Perhaps you could offer advice too and a step by step guide of what people should do if they are having problems.

In the meantime, if you are having problems with ASB and harassment from Neighbours, please visit 'Neighbours From Hell in Britain':

www.nfh.org.uk

They have been running their website for 9 years now and the people there are very kind and can offer practical advice and a friendly ear.

It's free!
