Hi Pudders,
We published the story on Thursday. You'll find it here http://www.hyde-housing.co.uk/News_1.aspx?id=12:35039&news=12:3886&b_mainnews_0=12:3886 . We'd love to have any more pics etc you have. Please send them to communications@hyde-housing.co.uk - and any other stories you might have. We're also trying to get the 'local offer' story some coverage as it's a great result that others should be able to learn from.
Alan

Thanks Alan for publishing. Alannah in your team should have a DVD full of pictures of the launch evening. One criticism I do have...sorry...is that it would have been nice to have had a quote from a resident especially as the local offer is 'Resident Involvement'.

How do I go about getting something published on the website. Our region, Hampshire are involved in one of the 37 TSA pilots and have just launched our 'local offer' - Tenant Empowerment. I would love to see an article on the website. Our Housing Manager has the press release, pod cast and loads of photographs which she has forwarded to communications....please can we have it highlighted on the website soon whilst it is still 'hot news'!!

This is in fact on our list of modifications to make to the website.

Sorry to hear that, but hopefully as time goes on the new website will seem more natural.
To help us improve it, can you tell us what sort of things you were looking for, and how you tried to find them - successfully or not.

Hi Sharon,

I have just realised that I did not reply to your post. The HRE inspections info is on the website in the local area sections. If you click on 'Your Neighbourhood' and 'Inspecting Hyde's Services' you will see all the information there.

Thanks, Sarah

I work in the Community Engagement team for Hyde South East in Lewisham and my team talk to residents on a regular basis. Many residents we've spoken to in the last few weeks really like the new website and lots of people have said to us it has great potential, however many people have commented about the size of the text that runs along the bottom of the Homepage. Some residents feel that this text, which provides links about how to report repairs and other service information, should be more prominant. Are there any plans to make this text bigger so that it is more eye catching for people in the near future?

Hi Lee,

Just to let you know the larger map has now been uploaded on to the new site as well as the amended postcode search. It should now only let you enter the first part of your postcode which will locate your local pages without a problem. Sorry it took so long, I hope it is more useful now.

Thanks,
Sarah

What happens when you enter your postcode? Any more info about the problem should help us resolve it faster.
We are aware of and working on some problems with the postcode search, but maybe there are others.

Is anyone else having a problem with this feature?
For some areas, the problem can be avoided by entering only the first part of your postcode - e.g. if your postcode is SE15 9EQ just type in SE15

We are still working on the look and feel of the forum, but feel quite happy with the design of the website. However we are always looking to improve it wherever we can, which is why feedback from the people who use it is so valuable to us.
What is it that you don't like about the website's design, and how would you improve it?

Thumbs Up Thankyou both for your comments! Thumbs Up

thanks sarah. i didn't realise that's what the library was for - i'm not sure if i'm the only one that would be confused! hmm when are we going to put the results of our Hydewide Resident's Eye (HRE) inspections there? we want people to know how their services are performing.

Hi Sharon,

Service performance information has just been posted up in the Hyde library - performance and reports: link

You can go back to the Hyde home page by clicking The Hyde Group (green writing at the top of the page). I am aiming to make this more obvious.

Hope this helps

The file size on picture limits needs increasing to 3mb at least, this is so we can uplaod a normal picture of ourselves!

Unfortunately the forum has limited disk space and this is simply not possible for now.
But here's a worked example of how I resized my picture:
  • Open Microsoft Paint (Start>Run>mspaint)
  • Open the image file you want to resize
  • You will see values for the width and height, take the largest one
-My image has width 180 and height 172 so I will take 180
  • Open Calcultaor (Start>Run>calc)
  • Divide 100 by the number
    -I typed 100 / 180 = Gave me a value of 0.555555555
  • Multiply your decimal number by 100 to get a percentage, round down rather than up
    -I get 55%
  • Go back to Paint and click Image>Stretch/Skew
  • In the 'Stretch' box enter the percentage value you have calculated for both width and height (leave the 'Skew' box at 0)
-I put 55 in each box (both boxes should have the same value)
  • Click File>Save As so you don't overwrite the original
  • Save the image as a JPEG (In the save dialogue, the 'save as type' dropdown). You will find the filesize to be well under 15KB
Anime Sweat Not the quickest method but if you have some proper image editing software on your computer it can be done in one step! Here are some links to free image editors:

Thankyou for your help George, will try this method.
