5) Oct 2010 Reported that vents are letting in cold air from the outside..meaning having to have heating on full blast, plus electric heaters ALL throught the winter, and STILL NOT FIXED..sent yet another to come look at thework..now Vent wet room not only lets cold air in, But no longer works at all.
Most recently (last Friday) They came to fit a new radiator in my wet room..Gues what.Yep..IT DOES NOT WORK!!!

Now I have reported these problems time and time again..and still nothing has been done. In fact I called XXXXX on Monday to tell him about the radiator and he assured me it would be fixed that day. Despite leaving messages etc..No-one has been or contacted me..
Seriously, I love my home and look after it..why can I not get the help needed? I was moved here because of health issues, and all of this is just making matters worse and causing me depression... HELP!!!!

Hi Marlyn,

The simple answer is this is how Hyde operates!!! With a long list of useless 'approved suppliers'.

From my experience, I have had one matter outstanding for 3 years!!! Turns out someone left the association and all their workload remained in their desk (which I suspect went to the tip). Followed the official complaints procedure which proved a waste of time because wouldn't it be ludricrous for a companies official complaints procedure to actually find their own employees at fault!!!

In the end had to go to the Housing Ombudsman, who did actually make sense and made a decision on the matter. Shame that Hyde have failed to deliver on the decision - no surprise there!

Have another issue on the property which has been outstanding for over 2 years and I generally find that within Hyde it is acceptable that once issues are acknowledged they can be strung out for all sorts of reasons, i.e. it's with the contractor, they can't do it until 2 weeks, one part is unobtainable, we're waiting for the surveyor... the list is longer than the encyclopedia Brittanica.

My advice to you is to take your outstanding issues to the Housing Ombudsman Service who is an independent body and their decision is binding. You can also pursue compensation for the distress you have been caused by the outstanding issues and costs incurred of taking time off work/damage to property through the issues.

However, you cannot take your issue to HOS until you have been through the official Hyde complaints procedure and the issues is still unresolved satisfactorily.

Whenever you report an issue/write a letter/are made a promise by Hyde - make a note and set a reminder - if it is a repair ask for the 'target completion' under the repair charter. If its not done then open an official Hyde complaint by using their 'complaints form'. Then see what the outcome is. If unstatisfactory you can take it further, then to HOS. Remember to keep all correspondence and make notes of all contact to/from Hyde - the date/time/persons name & brief summary of what they said as the HOS will ask for it. This is what I do - once I report an issue, I wait for the 'promised' response time and once that passes and it is still outstanding - straight onto the complaints form. Experience has taught me that despite however nice and helpful people sound - its all a sham and the majority just care about number 1 - particularly in the management team for my property.

Good luck - hope your issues get resolved asap/

Hi Marlyn,

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing problems; may I suggest you contact your local office to get this sorted by calling 0800 389 3576.

If you wish to make a complaint about the standard of service you have received then there is a formal process for doing so. You can find out more information about this here

I have also made your local office aware of your concerns. I hope this helps.

Best Wishes,
Sarah

I moved into my hyde property only last year. I had been moved to the property on health grounds as I have a terminal illness. Now, after months and months of telling hyde and the inspectors that came to my property. that there is a problem with all the doors in the property and the fact that the wetroom leaks out into my hallway..yet still nothing has been done!! Because of their lack of following through, my partner has had to put me in and out of the bath, which has made his back worse. Now, as I said, there are problems with all the doors in the property, and I had to bathe as I have accidents, My partner left me for all of five mins, I stated having a seizure and because the door jammed he had to break the door down to get me out of the bath. it was awful, so todayt I tried to use the wet room, only for it to leak out int the hallyway..AGAIN..and it has ruined my flooring..AGAIN!! Things are so bad I am forced to go and stay with a relative as I am in such a state over it all. Moving into this place was meant to be beneficial to my health and all it has done is put my life at risk and ruin my property, that I can not afford to replace. I brought all these issues to hyde whenwe moved in and still nothing has been done!!
Does anyone know how I can get these issues fixed as a matter of urgency?
